Week 5

Journal Entry #15:
Think Bout your general attitude toward life. Is it based on Win-Lose, Lose-Win, Lose-Lose, or Win-Win thinking/ How is that attitude affecting you?

My general attitude toward life is sometimes Win-Lose but depending on how mad I am it can be Lose-Lose. The Win-Lose I think affects me in somewhat of a negative way im not sure it depends on the situation. But the Lose-Lose of course is negative because I still lose but misery loves company & when I lose I don't like to be alone. Once again it depends on the situation.
Journal #16: Summarize The Tumor Twins.

Journal #17:  Describe a Win-Win situation in your life.

I could apply Win-Win to school. I could start thinking of ways that would improve my learning & study habits. Also instead of thinking that everyday at school will be a bad one I could be more optimistic about it. Lastly instead of thinking that im going to fail a test I could just say to myself that I studied, im going to try my best & everything's going to be ok.

WEEK 2

Proactive
Journal Entry #4

1.) What are some ways being proactive can help in school situations?
It can help you deal with your friends, teachers, grades, and with yourself.

Stop the Cycle

What is the author trying to teach the reader?
I think the author is trying to teach the reader that if something doesnt work out the first time do not keep doing it and expecting a diferent outcome because that is insanity. Also that if you are going to do something and it goes wrong to take responsibility for it.

Stop the Cyle

  1.  One habit that has been passed down to me that I would like to change or improve is: Not many people in my family go to or finish college and if they do they dont use their degree to the best of their ability.
  2. The history of that bad habit is:(Describe where it came from & how it has affected your family`s life.)  I dont know much about my families history and my grandma died before i was born but i dont know whether or not she went to college i dont think so my aunts did my mom went but then she dropped out of college. Now my older cousins both got pregnant or got someone pregnant they both have two kids and one of them are in college now but the other didnt bother it wasnt because of his kids though the guys in the family have a lot of trouble taking school seriously (sometimes i do too).
  3. This bad habit has affected my life in these ways: It makes it harder to know what to do to prepare to go to college. It makes it harder for me to be the first one to actually have the experience of going to college. My sister is actually going to college not like my aunt or my cousin on the computer but she is commuting.
  4. By changing that bad habit, my life will be different in these ways: I will be doing something I love instead of working for the state. It would give me more options & more stability in my life.
  5. To change that habit, I can do the following every day:(Describe your actions.) Take school more seriously. Prepare for college early and try not to get distracted.

 Human Tools:

1. Self-Awareness- Knowing who you are, your limits, your thoughts & beliefs.
2. Conscience-Some part of your brain that knows right from wrong.
3. Imagination- Your Creativity.
4. Willpower -The power to make your own choices based on you.

Week 3

WEEK #3

Journal Entry #8
The Great Discovery

1.) Think of a person who made a positive difference in your life. What qualities does that person have that you would like to develop?
My sister Patrice is smart, nice, blunt, free spirited, independent, open minded, pretty, funny, loud, & a fun and great person to be around. I would love to be as smart as her most people say that I am but her GPA was like a 4.0 or something so I doubt that I am but maybe I will be. I also want to be independent like her because I don't like relying on other people & when I flaunting i guess you could say that or showing off my stuff that's exactly what I want it to be MINE. I also want to have the same effect on people that my sister does people just gravitate towards her.

2.) Imagine yourself in 20 years. You are surrounded by the most important people in your life. Who are they & what are you doing?
I would say my family but my families sort of separated & weird so here it goes. Yvette (mom), Anthony (brother), Ashley (sister), Patrice (sister), Kaira (sister), Alex (sister), Patrilla, Shaun, Bryan (brother), Noah (nephew), Nicholas (nephew), Yvonne (aunt), Janie(aunt), Reggie (uncle), Tony(uncle), Betty (cousin), Raymond (Godfather), Steven(cousin), Trey(cousin), Michael(cousin), Michael(cousin), Michael(uncle), Michelle(cousin), Kenny(cousin), Rashaad(cousin), Mimi(cousin), Tamishia(cousin), Michaela(cousin), Ashlee, & Christina. We are on a beach in Hawaii having a big party.

3.)If a steel beam (6 inches wide) were placed across two skyscrapers, for what would you be willing to cross? A thousand dollars? A million? Your per? Your brother? Fame? Think carefully. I would cross for A million dollars, my brother, &/or fame.

4.) If you could spend one day in a great library studying anything you wanted, what would you study? I would study different religions including my sisters free spirit religion (not like a hippie or crazy person).

7.) Five years from now, your local paper does a story about you and they want to interview three people- a parent, a brother or sister, & a friend. What would you want them to say about you?
I would want them to say how beautiful, nice, smart, kind, caring, & successful I am. I would also want them to say how good of a person, friend, & relative I am.

8.) Think of something that represents you- a rose, a song, an animal. Why does it represent you? Well I think that a song & an animal could represent me. I think that an animal could represent me because I love to travel & try new things & sometimes I can be very active. I also think a song could represent me because I have so many different emotions, feelings, memories, & stories.

9.) If you could spend an hour with any person who ever lived who would it be? Why that person? What would you ask? If I could spend an hour with any person who ever lived it would be my grandmother on my moms side because I never got to meet her & with all the stories ive heard about her I feel like I missed out on something. I would ask her about her childhood, relationships, parents, friends, and what my family was like when they kids.
